01

Overview

Sommer Communication Services partnered with a regional operator to design and document a city-wide fiber backbone. The engagement covered route planning, splice documentation, and construction-ready GIS deliverables across dense urban corridors and suburban rings.

02

Challenge

Existing records were fragmented across legacy CAD files and field notes. The operator needed a single source of truth before construction could begin on a compressed timeline, with minimal disruption to active roadways and utility corridors.

03

Solution

Our team consolidated field surveys, redlines, and permit constraints into a unified GIS model. We produced OSP design packages, splice schematics, and phased construction sheets aligned to the client's engineering standards.

04

Results

The operator received construction-ready documentation for 120+ route miles, reducing redesign cycles during build and giving field crews accurate splice and handhole references from day one.
